Corona? COVID-19? What the duck?

Since the last four months, everyone has been hearing a word they are not used to: Coronavirus – and it seems that many of them are using the words Corona or Coronavirus when talking about the current pandemic.

To keep it simple, a Coronavirus is a term used to call a specific group of viruses (they have a crown-like structure, hence the term corona), some of which affect animals, and others affect humans.

This particular virus that is affecting us is officially called SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome CoronaVirus 2) and the disease it causes is called COVID-19.
